How to Conduct Personal Peace with EFT On Yourself?
What is Personal Peace Procedure with EFT Tapping? The 3 different methods of Personal Peace as part of a daily relaxation routine, to let go of the past, or to work through a deeper issue.

| BE YOUR OWN CLIENT | HANDLING MIND CHECK IN | DOES IT REALLY WORK?
I, like many others, have spent several years of my life being unaware of the fact that personal peace is a choice. I'm not sure what I was thinking.
Perhaps, I didn't believe anyone could ever have true inner peace. I was well aware that my emotions for tranquility were temporary.
My life was full of ups and downs; there were numerous demands on my time, and several tough situations to deal with.
I used to believe that personal peacefulness could only be attained by monks and saints, or by anyone who lived in solitude and didn't have to deal with the stress of regular life.
I was lost in a world of utter confusion, unsure about how I could find serenity? There was always something, some drama going on in my life or the lives of those I cared about.
Most of the time I felt as if life is only about negative moments.
Looking back now, I know that I thought my feelings were significant. Isn't it true that being emotional is a necessary aspect of life? Emotions helped me feel human and allowed me to empathise with others.
But I didn't feel good most of the time in the deepest part of my being. I wished I wasn't so emotional.
I desired to be free of any conflict in my life, to be able to respond calmly to other people's comments and wrath, and to have peace in my heart.
Despite of the conflict present in my life, I believe it was the intention that kept surfacing in my mind and heart. This fueled my spiritual search and lead me to discover a more peaceful way of life.
As the months and years passed, I became very determined to alter my living.
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) helped me overcome negative emotions, gain calmness, and attain a peaceful state of mind.
Emotional Freedom Techniques is undoubtedly one of the most effective therapeutic methods available today! EFT Tapping is a stress-relieving technique that is utilised by millions of people all over the world.
In EFT, a disruption in the body's energy system is the source of all negative emotions. Thus, in this case, the Personal Peace Procedure comes to the rescue.
In the world of EFT Tapping, the Personal Peace Procedure is a method for clearing out negative emotions and beliefs that can limit one's life choices.
The Personal Peace Procedure is not just a way to 'feel a little more peaceful'. Properly understood, this technique should be the healing centrepiece for every person on earth.
“Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset.”

The Personal Peace Procedure is a useful method for addressing ones own issues with EFT Tapping. There are many different ways to conduct the Personal Peace Procedure on yourself:
- As a daily relaxation practice - Using EFT Tapping on yourself daily to let go and feel good. This begins by establishing how you are feeling, and then tapping on yourself accordingly. These can be short 5 - 10 minute sessions.
- Working with past memories - It involves making a list of all the specific scenes or events which you can remember, and methodically work through the list.
- Being your own client and conduct professional sessions with yourself - This involves filling in an intake form, booking it in your diary for a full hour and working with yourself as if you were the client.
You can begin by either looking at yourself in the mirror or scanning your body and asking yourself:
- How am I feeling today?
- What do I want to feel instead?
- How is my body feeling?
- What does my body want from me?
Then use the EFT Tapping process to feel relaxed. For example,
- "Even though I feel tight, I deeply and completely love and accept myself."
- "Even though I feel stressed it's ok, I choose to feel relaxed now."
- "Even though I am anxious about my day, I deeply and completely love and accept myself."
You can tap on yourself while looking in the mirror, and tap on all the EFT Tapping points:
- Eyebrow: Feeling tight
- Temple/Side of the eye: Feel relaxed
- Under the eye: Choosing relaxation
- Under the nose: So happy to feel relaxed
- Chin: I am ok to relax now
- Collar bone: Feeling calm
- Under the arm: Feeling peace
- Thumb: So relaxed
- Index finger: Calm and composed
- Middle Finger: Relaxed
- Little finger: Completely relaxed now
- Close by tapping on the Karate Chop: Even though I can feel stressed, I choose to feel relaxed now.
The purpose of a daily tapping routine is to feel relaxed. It can soothe you and help you to feel good.
For memories that emerge, I would recommend using the Personal Peace Procedure for working with past events using the Tell the Story technique.
For deeper issue, fill in an intake form and conduct a series of sessions on yourself, or work with a qualified EFT Practitioner.
Most of our emotional and physical problems are caused (or contributed to) by our unresolved specific events, the vast majority of which can be easily handled by EFT.
Once of the easiest ways to conduct the personal peace process on yourself with EFT Tapping is to write down your 100 negative past events.
You can make a note of memories in the order which suits you the best. They can be chronological, grouped in themes, or random, as long as you maintain safety. This can be carried out by starting with the memories that feel easiest or safest to work with and do not evoke the highest emotional intensity.
Memories can be addressed in any order you choose (for example, by starting down the list or working on the most intense or the least intense ones first).
The idea is to address each issue as gently as possible, just the way you would do with a client. Moreover, while working solo, it isn't unusual to find out that you prefer the assistance of another EFT practitioner.
This can be very helpful to utilise the energy and objectivity of another person, to help resolve some challenging issues – particularly regarding early and repetitive childhood trauma.
Once you have identified a memory you want to explore, use the Tell the Story technique to gain freedom from the past.
STEP 1: OLD EVENT NAME, NUMBER, & FEELING
Give the old event a name. Tap on the name, number, feeling, and where it is in the body.
STEP 2: SAY THE STORY OUT LOUD OR WRITE IT DOWN, AND READ IT OUT LOUD
When the SUD comes down and you are comfortable talking about the story, say the story out loud and tap. Alternatively, you can write down the story, read it out loud and tap along using continuous tapping.
STEP 3: TAP ON THE EMOTION & WHAT HAPPENED UNTIL YOU GET CALM
If you get emotional, stop and tap on the emotion, what happened, and how it made you feel, until you felt calm.
STEP 4: RELEASE THE EMOTIONAL OVERWHELM
If you get emotionally overwhelmed, stop and breathe. Tap under the eye, collar bone, and under the arm, or hold the nine Gamut.
STEP 5: TALK & TAP UNTIL YOU FEEL CALM
Keep talking and tapping until you feel you can talk calmly about what happened.
Consider each of your negative emotions or specific events as a tree in a negative self-image forest. They might be reflective of things from your past like rejections, abuse, failures, fears, guilt, etc.
There can be hundreds of them. They might be very thick and can resemble to a jungle.
Let’s assume, though, that there are a 100 unhappy trees in your self-image forest. If you cut one of them down (by neutralising it with EFT) you still have 99 left.
You will feel noticeable, and much appreciated, emotional relief after cutting down that one tree, but you still haven’t made a dent in the self-image forest.
But what would happen if you methodically cut down one tree per day? Gradually, the forest would thin out. You would have more room to move within it and it would be a freer place to reside in.
Eventually, with persistent use of EFT, all the trees disappear and there is an emotionally free new you. The world looks different when the forest (or jungle) has disappeared and a new self-image emerges.
So, here are some of the strategies you can adopt while working on yourself as a part of a case studies or for a personal peace procedure:
Fill an intake form for a series of six self-help sessions and then book an appointment with yourself in the diary.
Make it an hour-long appointment and treat it professionally, as if you are working with a client.
Set up your private space, as if a client is coming; for example, clean the space, place a glass of water and tissues, and spray the room with aroma oils for fragrance or light an incense stick instead.
Meditate before beginning the session, just like you would with a client.
As the session begins, review the intake form, and then ask yourself, “What do you want to work on today?”

Discover how EFT Tapping can help you to self-heal or to become professionally qualified as a Certified EFT Practitioner. Emotional Freedom Techniques (Tapping) is clinically proven to lower stress, tension, anxiety, past trauma to enable health, happiness and vitality.
At the beginning of a session, focus on the question you've answered.
You can also use your skype or zoom account; look at yourself on the screen and ask the question, and wait for a response. The same approach is possible while looking at a mirror.
Write down the answers to the questions at any intensity levels (SUD’s and VOC’s). This will help you to stay on track with the different aspects that are being explored.
If you get stuck ask yourself, “If you were working with a client, what would you do right now?”
If the mind checks in, just notice the mind is checking in. You might wander off for a bit but you will come back to yourself.
You can also record the sessions to remember what happened, so you can write the case study.
When you begin to tap on yourself, you keep going without anyone holding space for you. There is no one present who will tell you to pause, review progress, or test where things are. By using the role-play two-chair method, where you play each role, and write down what unfolds, this can help you to keep on track with the session.
At times, we are unable to give sessions to ourselves. The reason could be a traumatic incident or an issue that is overwhelming you. During such times, it is wiser to bring in another person for the role of a Practitioner. This step is for your support and help.
1.
So, you can have a conversation with yourself and ask, “I am noticing that the mind is checking in, what will work for now to continue tapping?"
2.
You can also engage the mind and ask, “What’s the reason you are checking in? What is it that you want?”
3.
In many cases, the mind checks in because it wants to feel safe. So, you can ask, “What are you feeling now? What are you thinking now? How does that make you feel? What do you need to feel safe?”
4.
It is okay to pause and give the mind full attention and tap on, “Even though my mind wants to check-in and it makes me feel ...., I deeply and completely love and accept myself."
5.
Likewise, you can tap on - how does it make you feel, knowing that your mind is checking in?
“Even though my mind checks in and it really irritates me, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.”
6.
Give the mind a job. Ask the mind about the colour, texture, size, and shape of the thoughts and feelings. You can also ask the mind to describe the colour, texture, size, and shape of the act of checking in.
For example, “What is the colour of checking in? What is the size of checking in? What is the shape of checking in?”
7.
Focus on body sensations. Bring attention to your body. The body never lies but the nature of the mind is fear, doubt, judgments, and anger.
You can ask, “Where in the body are you feeling these emotions/thoughts? How does it make you feel?” You can also breathe into the body and ask the body, “If this part of the body could communicate, what would it say?”
8.
Role Play both roles - What you can do is place two chairs in the room. You sit on one chair when you are the practitioner, and on the other when you are the client.
During this approach, you will physically stand up and move between the two positions, thus allowing yourself to come in as a Practitioner/Giver/Observer and as a Receiver/Client.
Role Play - Two Chair Method While Working with Self:
- Place two chairs side-by-side or diagonally opposite to each other. Do not place the chairs directly opposite to each other as this can be highly confronting. Or else, you can anchor the client directly to yourself. Sit in the Practitioner's chair first and look at the other empty chair. Then imagine you're the client sitting there and ask yourself, “How are you feeling today? What would you like to work on?”
- Then switch places and sit in the client’s chair and respond
- Then move back to the Practitioner’s chair and ask any clarification questions to the client regarding what they want to work on and get started on
- If the client wants to respond, then once again sit in the client’s chair
- Then come back as the Practitioner and start tapping, and imagine yourself as the client who is tapping along with you
- You can also come and sit in the client’s chair and lead the tapping
- After each or at least a couple of rounds later, come back in the Practitioner's chair and ask, “What happened? How are you feeling? What do you want to explore next?” Review what was written from time to time
- At the end of three sessions review progress against the intake form, and at the end of six sessions review progress again. In the event, continue with additional six sessions and update the intake form

Here are some stories from our graduates of EFT Practitioner Training, and how the Personal Peace Procedure has helped them.
"I have been practicing it every day right after my morning rituals, and I am so happy
to report that I was successful in overcoming so many of my mental blocks, which were deep rooted beliefs and habits. From a small belief like I can't make soft chapatis to the biggest belief like I am not good enough is not my story any more."
RATNA, SAUDI ARABIA
"Since, I began with my Personal Peace Procedures (PPP), I have started to feel that it has really helped me in daily morning meditation. My patience has improved for things happening around me go against my wish, and mainly the ones that I have no control over.
Before I started PPP’s, I had been experiencing that my mind is running every where while I meditate on my breathing, and also I had very little patience when someone is crossing my boundaries etc.
Then, I introduced myself to this lovely technique, personal peace procedure every morning just before my meditation.
Each morning I noticed that my mind which is normally full of memories due to the various things happening around me, and on some I have no control over to change, specially when close family members are involved. So, those memories really bother me while I meditate.
So, I started to use this PPP to clear my mind from those bothering as well as hurting memories just before the meditation and it’s like you wash something before it gets polished, just to clear the surface dust and grease.
Through my personal peace procedure I think now I am finding the balance of this journey, what we called LIFE."
PURNIMA, SRI LANKA
There is a need for balance in everything. This suggests that personal peace is the outcome of a variety of internal and external circumstances.
In our world, there is a lot of negative energy and chaos, but we can all learn to live in peace.
This will happen if your intention is strong and originates from the deepest part of you. Nothing changes on the outside; peace comes from making adjustments within yourself.
It starts with becoming more conscious of who you are, and continues with a knowing that you are loved. It also begins by changing your mindset, practicing loving and kindness, and accepting what is.
As you accept that you cannot go back and will not relinquish what you have now found, the peace that you seem to have been searching for your entire life.
But finally, you will experience deep inner peace that will last no matter what challenges life throws at you.
Keep Tapping!
